Odin: How to Upgrade Samsung Galaxy 551 I5510 to Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread Firmware I5510XWKPH

Here's the detailed guide on  how to update and upgrade your Samsung Galaxy 551 I5510 to latest Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread firmware this year 2012. Yes! this device got a new firmware update and it's still alive!
The newest firmware build is I5510XWKPH newer than previous build I5510XWKPA, I5510POKP8 and I5510XWKPG. This firmware is was spotted on Kies to be officially released in Hungary and Czech Republic.

Note: This firmware is only  compatible and flashable with Europe and Asia version of  Galaxy 551 GT-I5510.  Other versions like Galaxy 551 GT-I5510M and GT-I5510L in North and South America cannot use this ROM for it has a different Baseband Radio build. So don't ever try attempting to install this other than GT-I5510 instead find any custom ROMs that supports for your devices for there is no Gingerbread firmware updates so far in these areas.

Disclaimer: Droidangel shall not be held responsible if anything happens to your device by following this guide. You at your own risk. Flashing firmwares is for advance users only. This is a bit risky for beginners.

Before you proceed always back-up all important data stored from the device. We are flashing firmware here, so it is better to be prepared better than sorry if something went wrong.
Ensure that the battery is fully charge, I fully recommend fully charge batteries, I already encountered a weak battery that shows 80% power but it suddenly shut downs, for it is already weak.  So, make sure that your battery is completely 100% working. Power failure while flashing will brick your device in no time.
Use a PC/laptop runs in windows OS, make sure that the USB port is working.

Grab these files you'll need for flashing
Odin 4.42: Mirror1  Mirror2 (this version flash smoothly for it has an enhance mode support)
CALLISTO_v1.0.ops : Mirror1  Mirror2 (This is the default OPS file for Galaxy I5510 that tells Odin you are going to flash the right device.

How to Flash and Install stock ROM on Samsung Galaxy W (Wonder) I8150 using Odin

This is a step by step guide on how to flash the Samsung Galaxy W GT-I8150 stock ROMs. This method is by way using Odin downloader tool instead of Kies which is useful in downgrading, upgrading and reverting your device back to original stock or official firmware. We included some pictures for some very important steps just for newbies to see of what this process is all about.

DISCLAIMER: Dlltoday team take no responsibility for anything that may happen to your device by following this guide. This method shall not be taken slightly for it will harm your device, if something went wrong. So, proceed at your own risk.

Downgrading and Upgrading  Process
This method is just like updating your device via Kies that is installed on your computer, the only best thing with this is that you can also use other region firmware to upgrade your device in advance without waiting any firmware updates released on Kies. This includes leaks, and other unofficial or custom ROM develops by developers.

Reverting back to Official Stock
This process will return your Samsung Galaxy W I8150 to original factory default firmware or official firmware released by Samsung via Kies or OTA (over the air) updates. This is very useful if you want to 'Undo" modding of your device before selling it and or returning it back to your service provider for warranty purposes.

Fix soft bricked
If you your device suffered soft-bricked during firmware updates on Kies and your device just stuck on welcome screen and can't get into normal booting. So before you want to send it to your service center you first give it a shot and fix it by yourself.

Things you should do before flashing (for safety purposes)
Flashing the phones software is not safe, even if you use Kies, if anything went wrong like power failure or any interruption might result into serious issues and harms your device. So proceed with extra precaution before proceeding.

So, if you are way up go and ready to have some tweaks of your device,  grab the following necessary  tools for this procedure.

* Odin Multi Downloader v4.43_with_smd0425 download. (the best one is v4.44_with_smd0425 but not available for now)
* Stock ROMs for Samsung Galaxy W GT-I8150 (choose the right firmware that match with your device product code or via CSC file)
*  Samsung driver download ( you need the phone driver if you don't have Kies previously installed on your PC.

If struggling into download mode, this is a little bit tricky sometime. Try to remove the battery for a while then put it back again, then try the button combination again. (If your device was bricked and can't get into download mode by button, buy or build a download mode Jig)

5. Connect the Phone to PC or laptop - Once the device already displays "Downloading... Do Not Turn Off  Target", it's now time to connect it to PC. In Odin the COM: Mapping box will turn to color yellow and it says "added! or detected!!" in the log box when the device is properly connected and Odin recognized the phone.

If the flashing fails don't panic. Switch to a different port of your PC and then repeat the process again.

I9100XXKPA Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich Firmware Upgrade for Samsung Galaxy S II

A firmware build I9100XXKPA packed in Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich has just been leak for Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100. This is the third ICS 4 build for Galaxy S II that freshly came out this year from Sammmobile since the last two ICS build I9100XXKP4 and I9100XXKP8 last December.

Again, this is a beta released and not yet officially released by Samsung over Kies server. If you ever installed the XXKP4 or XXKP8, there isn't much special on this ROM, but one good thing about this ROM  is that it is more stabler than the last two builds and this time the camera, USB and SD is working now. Although, some bugs are still present since this is only a beta but hopefully we have an info from one of our trusted source that the Devs are are still working much harder this days to have a better and more stable ICS 4 for SGSII. So, let's hope that it will done as soon as possible for many of us can't wait much longer to have a more stable ICS 4.

Changes.
Camera working
USB and SD working
Battery feels better.
Phones looks faster.
Touch response is better.
Overall: Firmware more stable but still with some bugs.

Odin Flashing Procedure for Galaxy Note GT-N7000
1)Extract the downloaded firmware or stock ROM

2) Run Odin Downloader v1.85 program.

3) Load the binary files to its designated slots.
A. Single file only - This firmware comes in a single packed  mostly on recent updates that is fulled from official Samsung Kies firmware server. The PDA,MODEM and CSC file are in one single packaged.
Once you extracted this file, you''ll find a .tar.md5 file extension to it.
ex. N7000XXKJ4_N7000OXXKJ4_N7000XXKJ4_HOME.tar.md5

Just load the file on the PDA slot. Just click on the PDA button then select and load it.

DO NOT check 'Repartition' because there is no PIT file is loaded. This is safe for upgrade and downgrade only when the device is currently running the official firmware.
Check these: Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time checkboxes.

C) Multiple files with Pit included - This is a full flashing method, this is only advisable and useful for reverting back to original firmware when previously installed unofficial ROM or to fix softbricked devices like unable to boot normally. (I am using this method in my shop to fix bricked devices. Be aware that hard bricked or such already dead boot jammed devices cannot be recovered by Odin, I'm using a JTAG force flashing with another tool) So, don't ever messed your device for its hard to recover it)

The same as the multiple file step above but this time you need to load the pit file.
Click the Pit button and load the Q1-20110914_16GB.pit then the PDA, MODEM and CSC files. If the bootloader file is also included load it on the BOOTLOADER button.

This time you need to check the Re-Partition, Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time checkboxes.
